Zach Collett

Counselling Therapist Intern

Hello! My name is Zach Collett (He/Him), and I hold a degree in Psychology from Saint Mary's University. I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.

I bring experience from management, education, and supporting adults with intellectual disabilities, which has shaped a holistic and compassionate approach to counselling.

As a counsellor, creating a space where the client feels heard, understood, and valued is central to my work. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and person-centred therapy. Additionally, I have research interests in parenting approaches that help parents connect and regulate their children's emotions.

Clients are experts in their own lives. People come to counselling with strengths, knowledge, and potential solutions, and our shared goal is to discover them. My role is to help clients process emotions, navigate challenges, and improve overall well-being.

Life gets complex and challenging, and seeking support takes courage. I look forward to working with a diverse range of clients and supporting them as they navigate life and move toward meaningful change.
