Taylor Thibault

Counselling Therapist Intern

Hi there! My name is Taylor (she/her), and I am excited and honoured to be part of the Couch of H.O.P.E. team as a Counselling Intern. My passion for psychology began at a young age, leading me to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Psychology from Saint Mary's University. I graduated during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlighted the importance of mental health services, especially accessible mental health care.

Over the past few years, I've worked within the education system, primarily supporting neurodiverse children. Assisting children to foster independence and grow more resilient inspired me to return to school and pursue my Master's in Counselling through Yorkville University. Through my work with people, I have developed a strong belief that you, my client, are the expert in your own life. Person-centred therapy is at the heart of all my sessions, aiming to create a space where you feel seen, heard and supported. I am particularly drawn to mindfulness practices, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy—but I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs and preferences and am not limited to these modalities.

My areas of interest include trauma, relationship challenges, stress management, anxiety, depression, career concerns, and burnout—though I'm open to working with a wide range of experiences. I know life can be complex, and reaching out for help can feel overwhelming. I'm here to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be yourself, gain tools to navigate life's challenges and feel empowered in your personal growth.

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." — George Bernard Shaw

I look forward to working with you!
