Hello! My name is Krista Coolen (she/her), and I am excited to be joining Couch of Hope as a Counselling Therapist Intern. I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Dalhousie University.
Through my professional experiences supporting individuals with disabilities, I have developed a deep respect for meeting people where they are and honouring each person’s unique strengths, needs, and lived experience.
I strive to create a therapeutic space that is warm, supportive, and non-judgmental, where clients feel safe to explore their experiences at a pace that feels right for them. I take a client-centred and collaborative approach, grounded in empathy, curiosity, and respect for each person’s unique story.
I am interested in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship concerns, and self-connection. I am committed to providing an inclusive and LGBTQIA+ affirming space and value working with clients in a way that honours their identities, strengths, and lived experiences.
I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
