Intern

Madeline Lean

Counselling Therapist Intern

Hello! My name is Madeline Lean (she/her), and I am pleased to be a Counselling Intern at Couch of HOPE.

I strive to create a therapeutic space that is warm, empathetic, and client-centered. My goal is for clients to feel respected, validated, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges. I believe therapy can provide a safe place to process emotions, explore new perspectives, and foster meaningful personal growth.

My approach is grounded in compassion and curiosity. I am drawn to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic approaches, while integrating flexibility to meet the unique needs of each client. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief, and the influence of early life relationships and experiences on present-day challenges. I also hold a particular passion for understanding the dynamics of interpersonal relationships and what influences them.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University and am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Additionally, I volunteer with the Kids Help Phone as a Volunteer Crisis Responder.

It would be a privilege to support you through this next step in your mental health.
