Hello, my name is Leandri Keeve (she/her). I am a counselling intern at Couch of Hope and am currently working towards completing my practicum as part of my Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I hold a degree in Education and an honours degree in Educational Psychology. My experience includes seven years of teaching children of various ages and grades. After leaving the education sector, I sought to broaden my experiences over the past three years by helping vulnerable newcomer women during their settlement process and preparing parents and toddlers for school. I have also provided support to a small team of newcomers, helping to build Canadian work experience at an organization in Nova Scotia.
My prior experience has prepared me to work with clients from diverse backgrounds. My therapeutic areas of interest include, but are not limited to, dealing with life transitions, providing support in career and education-related areas, relationships, anxiety, depression, and personal growth. My approach is rooted in a person-centered perspective, incorporating elements from solution-focused, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural approaches.
I am looking forward to working alongside you, supporting and guiding you on your healing journey by utilizing your strengths and providing you with a safe space to achieve your goals.
