Kaylee Riznek

Counselling Therapist Intern

Hello and Welcome,

My name is Kaylee Riznek (she/her), and I am a Counselling Therapist Intern completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Mary’s University, which laid the foundation for my deep interest in human behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and the healing power of therapeutic relationships.

Beginning my career in counselling is something I feel genuinely passionate about. I believe everyone deserves to feel grounded, capable, and at peace within themselves, even when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. Many people are navigating systems and circumstances that don’t always meet their needs, and I strive to offer a space where you feel supported, respected, and understood.

My approach to counselling is collaborative, strengths-based, and client-centred. I draw from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural (CBT), humanistic, and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) approaches, tailoring each session to the unique needs, goals, and experiences of the client. I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and that meaningful change happens when clients feel empowered and actively involved in their own process.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace. I aim to meet you with empathy and curiosity, honour your story, and support you in building the insight, confidence, and skills needed to move toward the life you want.

It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they grow, heal, and reconnect with themselves—and I would be honoured to support you in this chapter of your journey.
