Hello, I’m Erin Manning (she/they), a counselling intern at Couch of Hope and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student at Yorkville University. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Adult Education, which deepens my understanding of human development, learning, and change across the lifespan.
For the past seven years, I have supported at-risk youth experiencing trauma, substance use, mental health challenges, and identity exploration. This work has shaped my growth and inspired my focus on individual therapy with adolescents and adults.
My approach is person-centred, emphasizing safety, trust, and authenticity. I aim to create a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment where your experiences, values, and goals guide our work.
I draw from narrative and person-centred therapies. While your past may shape you, it does not define you. You have the capacity to create meaningful change. I am also drawn to Solution-Focused Therapy, which can help you identify and build on strengths and resources you may not yet recognize.
My focus areas include complex trauma, anxiety, and depression. I am committed to providing inclusive and affirming care, with experience supporting individuals in 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Whatever you are facing, you do not have to navigate it alone. I am here to listen and support you.
